Here's a quick schedule of the happenings this week with Vintage Bliss. First up, we will be setting up at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas for Country Christmas. It's a HUGE shopping event that conicides with the NFR, National Finals Rodeo. My booth is #1349. I'll have lots of jewelry, new tees, and Talia with Bluebird Vintage will be joining me with her awesome collection of gypsy style clothing, boots, and belts! Hope to see you there!
Then, on Friday, we will be at The Vintage Marketplace in Fallbrook, CA. Talia with Bluebird Vintage is helping me out on this one too! Woohoo! She always has some awesome vintage gypsy finds. I'll have new tees and designs there too! Hope to see you!
So, a few weeks ago I received a package of my friend Cari Cucksey's new paint called Chroma Color. I've been wanting to play with this paint for a while now. She has been doing demo's of it at all the Country Living shows and others she has been at. The colors are gorgeous and the paint-so silky smooth! She told me when they were formulating the paint she told the manufacturer that "she only wanted a paint that was good enough to put her name on, she wanted paint that was worth buying and buying again" I think she has hit the mark!
Now, I don't like to paint furniture much anymore, but I do use it for smaller projects. I use on jewelry and ornaments, like the one I'm about to show you. Pictured above is the can and packaging. She also has Stains, which I would love to try out as well!
So for this project, I created an ornament cross out of some thin metal banding. Cut the pieces out and glued together with E6000 Industrial Strength adhesive. Let dry, and it's ready to paint!
I first, pick up a little, ( I stress, a little paint) and dab it once or twice on a scrap paper, I'm going to dry brush the paint on the cross. I want a little bit of the rust color of the metal to show through the background. Dabbing it makes sure you don't glob on too much paint.
Lightly swipe the brush on the metal...
this is the effect I was going for, some of the rust color underneath showing through...
finish lightly coating the piece...
after you have let dry, use a Polyurethane Sealer(Cari has one with her line as well) , you can use a Matte or a Semi Gloss Sealer, I used a semi gloss Sealer. Just to give it a light shine. I tied some hand dyed Sari Ribbon from my friend Karen Lackey of Starshine Design. You can leave them as they are, or add some embellishments to them like this....
I used the tin ceiling tile hearts that I use for my jewelry on these ornaments. I love mixing different mediums and textures together. Hope you liked this little demo of her paint, it gives great coverage, and you can use it for more than jsut furniture. Think outside the box! Or Can, I should say!
Her is the link to Cari's Website again. You can browse her blog, site, and show on HGTV.

So a little catching up is in order on this blog o mine. So the month of July has been a whirl wind! First up, this adorable little guy is my friend Talia's nephew Ryder. He steals my heart everytime I go up to Eagar, northeast AZ. He has the sweetest little voice and is just too cute! He had a blast watching the 4th of July parade in Eagar-Springerville waiving his flag.
lots and lots of people came out for the parade, it was fun to see a small town parade. so much better than anywhere else.
what's a parade without a Rodeo Queen?
or a goofy kid jumping into your photo??!!
and no parade is complete without vintage fire trucks, a must!
Talia had the shop fixed up super cute for the Fourth. I love coming up here, it's always a fun time and so nice to get out of the heat from Phoenix!
My set up at the shop.
We handed out lots of cards for our upcoming Rendezvous Market on Labor Day Weekend. Hope you can join us!
Talia has lots of very cute vintage vignettes all over the grounds. And a few adorable vintage trailers, too!
these chair s are the cutest!
this vintage trailer is being spruced up for the Rendezvous Market as another selling space. It is vintage heaven!
and then there are the vintage garden vignettes throughout the property. Seriously, I was going crazy taking pics of all these.
who doesn't lovc an Herb Bed?
My new vintage map trailer necklaces were debuted at this show, and they were a big hit.
A pink bike in the front of the shop, perfect! Ready for the Rendezvous Market!
